Highest growth potential

Angola ranks among the countries with the highest growth potential in Africa. It has the capacity to produces 1.700.000 barrels of oil daily and has estimated reserves of 10 billion barrels. It also has diamond, 3 million hectares of arable land, many valuable minerals and one of the largest water reserves, which gives it massive potential for producing electric energy and fishing. This country was once the world´s fourth-largest coffee producer, a major iron ore producer and exporter of high-quality marble, food and sisal. The government is carrying out a program to privatize state-owned companies and opening up the oil business to international firms.

Quality of life improvement

Living standards in Angola have improved. Typically, per capita output is a good indicator of living standards. Implicitly, it marginally encompasses some qualitative factors, such as educational and health standards, which are not, however,  explicitly represented by this indicator. It is worth mentioning that average life expectancy has increased.

Angola

The original inhabitants of Angola were hunters and gatherers of the Khoisan group. Their descendants, called Bushmen by the Europeans, still inhabits part of southern Africa, and small amount can be found in the south of Angola. They were replaced by succesive contingents of Western Africa Bantu speaking tribes as a resault of their southward migrations. The Bantu settled in Angola between 1300 and 1600 and they formed important kingdoms.
